London, UK. February 22nd 2009 - Pierluigi Piu’s Olivomare has just been nominated as a candidate for the first prize as the best restaurant lately designed in the United Kingdom. To recognise excellence in restaurant & bar design the UK has launched its first and only Restaurant & Bar Awards dedicated exclusively to design. The awards are open to UK based restaurants and bars and their international designers. A judging panel of some of the world’s most creative and respected leading personalities in design, hospitality and lifestyle has looked into over 350 entries made from the ‘coolest’ UK restaurants and bars and their star designers (including Zaha Hadid, Tom Dixon, Kengo Kuma, Claudio Silvestrin and Karim Rashid) from all over the World. The final awards ceremony will be held on next April 27th at Village Underground in Shoreditch, London, where a hugely innovative event - starstudded with world leaders in hospitality, design and the style conscious general public - will take place.
